Beauty City International is leading the Hair, Beauty and Fashion Awards event in 2022, the first of its kind in the UK, integrating the 3 synonymous industries together in one destination.
Showcasing the talent of small and independent businesses from across the UK; by providing a platform to generate exposure and national recognition for all the nominees work and performances within the sector.
The awards consist of 19+ diverse categories across the 3 sectors, ranging from Fashion Designer of the year, Beauty Salon of the year, to Hair Stylist of the year.
Voting is now accessible to the public to nominate their favourite businesses or freelancers, highlighting the excellence of products and services provided by local communities on a nationwide spectrum.
Diversity and inclusion are two core values upheld by Beauty City and the HBFA awards; which is reflected by the incorporation of award categories for businesses that specialise in Afro-Caribbean hair and beauty services, divisions which are often overlooked by mainstream media and award ceremonies.
The selection of Charities chosen for the event also reflect Beauty City International’s philanthropic brand identity; consisting of several nonprofit organisations and charities.
We choose 3 key charities to support during the HBFA’s and these are as follows: The 1st charity we will be supporting is Macmillan Cancer Support, this is a charity that is very close to our hearts at HBFA & BCI, Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
Our 2nd charity, we’ll be shining a light on the growing importance of raising awareness for mental health and this includes “mind” who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. “mind” continuously campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Our 3rd charity is the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity, As well as continuing to support work on ‘Emergency Response’, they have two new strands of activity. Now also investing in ‘Places & Spaces’ from modular homes to temporary accommodation. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, looking upstream to develop work around ‘Targeted Prevention’ because homelessness should be neither an inevitable nor an acceptable outcome for people at risk.
“Habia” is also a non-profit organisation we are working with and supporting through the HBFA’s. Habia works closely with education within the Hair & Beauty industry, providing up to date information on education, qualifications and skills and is a not for profit organisation, Habia invests all surplus revenue back into funding projects that will benefit the hair and beauty Industries.
We hope you’ll help us in raising funds and awareness with the above charities along with recognizing all the great work businesses owners, staff and freelancers do in the world of hair, beauty and fashion.
The HBFA’s was a sell out show, hundreds gathered to celebrate the success of the best providers of Hair, Beauty and Fashion services. The upcoming UK ceremony will not fail to disappoint, with our celebrity co-host Jenny Powell and a significant increase in the number of nomination categories, you will not be dissapointed.
